5G communication

A special antenna is added to the 5G mobile phone, and the metal will shield and interfere with the signal, so the modified plastic becomes the main choice of Mobile phone case. 5G Mobile phone case needs to have heat dissipation, low dielectric constant, wear resistance, 5G signal permeability, and decoration function. Therefore, the key development areas for modified plastics include:

The composite modification of rigid inorganic fillers and aramid fibers, glass fibers, carbon fibers with PC and PS enhances wear resistance.

Thermal conductive particles such as magnesium oxide, alumina, zinc oxide, pigments, and PC, PS modified heat dissipation plastics, and spray free plastics.

2. Low dielectric constant radome material

The dielectric constant has a significant impact on the signal transmission speed, signal delay, and signal loss of 5G communication. Low dielectric constant plastics are commonly used modified plastics in 5G. The 5G base station antenna cover has been used outdoors for a long time, requiring the antenna cover material to have excellent weather resistance and low dielectric constant. The commonly used modified plastics for 5G radomes include:

The modified plastic of PC and glass fiber has good weather resistance and insulation, and can be directly extruded to obtain an antenna cover. It is a high transmittance antenna cover.

ASA has high weather resistance, and by adding low dielectric constant filler mica powder and kaolin modification treatment, better 5G antenna cover materials are obtained.

Foamed PEI (polyether imide) has excellent mechanical strength and modulus, maintains stable dielectric constant over a wide temperature and frequency range, and does not deform at higher temperatures and under load. It is a precision 5G radome material.

3. Plastic antenna oscillator material

Due to the high cost and excessive weight of metal antenna oscillator materials, using plastic materials as antennas can not only significantly reduce weight but also have low costs. The requirements for plastic antenna oscillators are high-temperature resistant engineering plastics, weldable, electroplated, high-precision, and non deformable. Suitable modified plastics include:

PPS and glass fiber modification are applied as a new type of oscillator in 5G macro base stations through electroplating.

LCP materials are widely used in the 5G industry due to their high mechanical strength, high temperature resistance, flame retardancy, dimensional stability, and low dielectric properties. Especially for LCP materials, various processing methods such as injection, extrusion, and molding can be used, making their processing and molding very convenient. Modified with filled glass fibers and minerals, it has characteristics such as high heat resistance, high flow, and low warping. It has extremely low dielectric loss, good heat and flame resistance, and extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion. It has a clear competitive advantage in the 5G high-frequency band.

MPI is an improved polyimide, which belongs to amorphous material. Its price is relatively low compared with LCP. It has high temperature resistance above 400 ℃ and excellent insulation. Polyimide modified by fluoride formula is used for high-frequency signal processing and is an excellent antenna material.
